A pug report from the Adventures of Moose

Submitted by Moose's Dad:

On Sunday, 22 February, Moose decided to go to Newboro to watch the annual dog sled races.

Nicely dressed up in the wonderful winter jacket made by Tonka's Grandmother, Moose knew that he looked smart and confident. The pretty tartan scarf was remarkably similar to Moose's Dad's outfit.

Moose didn't know why his Dad said he was going to "cry" at the dog sled races. Perhaps he is just an emotional kind of guy? Anyway, as far as Moose was concerned, the whole day was all about him! It was nice of the other dogs to show up, too bad they had to work so hard, pulling sleds and ski-joring, pulling people on skis, but there was a great concession where they sold hot dogs, hamburgers, chili con carne and beef on a bun. They also sold a delicious sweet pastry that looked a lot like the Ottawa "Beaver Tails," but at the Newboro Dog Sled Races, these pastries were called "Dog Paws!" People can be so funny! Hot dogs and Dog Paws, that's just weird.

Moose didn't see any tears on his Dad's face, although he wondered why the old fellow was doing so much shouting. The loud bell ringing was kind of annoying, but if that stopped Dad from crying, Moose was pleased.

Lots of people came up to Moose and told him he was really cute, but Moose already knew that. It was a bit cold outside, but Moose's Dad was wearing a big, red blanket, so it was nice to be cuddled up in the red blanket, staring at the people from eye level.

It was a great day to be a Pug in Newboro and when the races were over, the trophies and prizes handed out, Moose was the happiest dog in Newboro, because he was going home sitting on his Dad's lap watching Mom drive. Nap time!

Cheers!
David, Victoria and Moose
