Well, we knew it would happen sooner or later. Heidi has hurt her eye very badly. It happened on Wednesday evening during a bad thunderstorm. Heidi, of course, was going nuts as she always does during thunderstorms. But this time, during a burst of madness, she ran straight into my chair. I knew she'd hit the chair hard, but I didn't realize she'd hit her eye or hurt herself because she proceeded to run outside and go nuts. It wasn't until the next day, yesterday, that I noticed her twitching her head every few seconds and hiding in corners, her left eye swollen and squeezed shut. I could tell she was in some serious pain. We took her to the vet last night and it looks like she is at risk of losing her eye. We have her on pain medication, anti-inflammatories, and antibiotics. We should know in the next few days whether or not she will be able to keep her eye. If you pray, or have a talent for sending positive energy, please think about Heidi over the next few days.

Poor Heidi!
