Samsonite the Mennonite

Samson is Heidi's big brother. Sammy the cat was our baby (14 yr old baby, that is) when the stork brought Heidi to us. Heidi spent the first year of her life with Samson (he is now Gran'Mum's baby), and picked up a lot of her habits from him. Sammy authored the tongue-sticking-out-of-mouth look. Heidi is obsessed with Sammy, and imitates Sammy's habits so much, sometimes we are convinced that Heidi thinks she's a cat. She sleeps like a cat on the tops of couches, curls up in the sunlight to warm herself, she prefers cat food to dog food, and on and on it goes. Some parents would be worried about their puppy exhibiting that kind of behaviour, but we will always be proud of our baby, whether she's a cat or a dog. One more piece in the Nature vs. Nurture puzzle...

Why exactly is Samson a Mennonite? Dare I ask?
And please don't mention nature versus nurture to new parents- scary responsibility stuff!!

Do you think Heidi remembers Samson?

Well, Samsonite rhymes too well with Mennonite NOT to call him that, now doesn't it? Not to mention he has Mennonite heritage through his adopted family (us). And yes, we think they both remember each other. It's so cute to see how excited Heidi gets, licking Sammy's face, trying to contain her energy so that Sammy doesn't swat her in the nose. Good pals.
